Cover for Jess Ribeiro - 'Summer Of Love'

A careful, haunting, album that traverses intimate reflections out of tram windows and plodding psychedelic harmonies. The ever-changing palette of instrumentals always strikes the right balance between filling-out the mix and letting Jess lead, her voice lingering, swirling, switching between the melodic and everyday. This record feels like it’s looking at ya right in the eyes, with songwriting that cuts through in a similar way that Sarah Marah Chadwick or Leah Senior (who plays some keys on the LP) might. The overall sound Jess, producer Nick Huggins and a suite of collaborators strikes on ‘Summer of Love’ is a curious, restrained, but no less creative collage, tied together with some of Jess’s most enticing performances to-date.
